la ciàpa töcc i sò vistìcc d’arzènt
AT MY VILLAGE, SOMETIMES
At my village, sometimes the Night under a spell
urconcernly embellishes herself
she gets all her silver dresses
she does the washing in the tub of the lake.
Among those waves she rinses
her silvery scraps but unintentionally
some sparklings take off from the cloth
and flicker in the transparent water.
Downthere floating little stars
get together against the edge of this tub
in the darkness, bright necklaces sparkle in a line.
Behind the church, down at the Harbour
or near it I strech out my hands
into the water and I am sure to tickle the stars.
