El vècc lochet – Il vecchio lucchetto – The old padlock – Poesia di Velise Bonfante in dialetto bresciano con traduzione in italiano. Traduzione in inglese prof. Francesca Galletti Mottana
e n’öciada d’amur che söre i mai.
THE OLD PADLOCK
The old padlock in the cold, at night , in the darkness of the night
chained up to the bad axes of the gate
has to protect the little vegetable garden.
It’s really alone, abandoned ,half broken ,rusty but strong.
A dark noise is approching then it disappears
between the cherry- tree and the little wall
Chained on the lock the old padlock
controls all around without moving
And it waits for the morning to come to receive
the caress of a rough hand and
a look of love that sweetens all sufferings .
The night too, is silent and amazed watches
to console the sigh of a sentry
from the sky, a star falls down here to touch it .
deve far la guardia all’orticello.
È solo e abbandonato mezzo rotto, arrugginito ma tenace
Si avvicina un rumore nero poi sparisce
nascondendosi fra il ciliegio e il muretto.
Vigile sul catenaccio il vecchio lucchetto
immobile controlla tutt’intorno.
